METAL DEACTIVATORS
Transition metal ions such as copper and iron can accelerate polymer degradation by catalysis of the oxidation process. Metal deactivators function by the chelating with transition metal ions to render them inactive as oxidation catalysts. The use of metal deactivators is most critical in applications where plastics are in direct contact with metal surfaces, such as wire and cable insulation and molded parts having metal inserts. They are also useful to deactivate the transition metals present as impurities in some mineral fillers and inorganic pigments. CDA-1 CDA-6 CDA-10 |
